Dan has worked as the full pipeline director of audio, composer and sound designer on the holiday themed 3D puzzle platformer Scuba Saves Christmas, after cutting his teeth on student projects and game jams through the Portland State University GEMS showcase. Working on projects such as Rainy Glass, a 3 level puzzle platformer/action RPG, for which he was asked to do the soundtrack, and Strailia, a boomer shooter which allowed the opportunity for sound design, music composition and implementation.

With over a decade of experience working as a trombonist, Dan’s aggressive improvisations and tight, powerful sound earned him a regular spot in the casinos and nightclubs of Detroit, where he honed his musical edge playing with some of Detroit's finest musicians, including members of Parliament-Funkadelic, Sly and The Family Stone, and The Gap Band. As a composer, Pancy has a broad range of talents, writing chamber music and solos that call for improvising with a generative accompaniment, to creating high school band repertoire that challenges a young ensemble to grow.

Dan has released three self produced albums, releasing the first, OST! in 2020, a concept album that follows conventions typical of the video game music from the 1990's. A series of three themes were created, then expanded on and set into different contexts, representing different levels, and the struggles that the character or player might be going through. Cheese Factory was created and released the following year in 2021, and is a collection of found sound and EDM inspired songs, where the compositional emphasis was placed heavily on finding grooves in nature, and creating a soundscape out of them. Fast Tracks was composed, produced, mixed, mastered, and released in a single 48 hour weekend, as a challenge to Dan.

As a lyricist, Dan has no trouble writing to match a myriad of styles. From introspective hip-hop dealing with the anxieties of growing up in a large, conservative midwestern family, to JPop that serves as a wayward sea slug’s introduction to the traps of modern life, or eurobeat dance music about a husbands recently deceased wife consoling him from beyond the grave,. No topic is off limits, and no genre is out of reach.

Dan Pancy has been performing across the country as a trombonist, bassist, tubist, trumpeter, and keyboard player since age nine, and is always looking to find more opportunities to grow as a musician. To contact Dan for any of your musical needs, please reach out to him at DanMPancy@Gmail.com
